How a Newborn Session with Cherry on Top Photography Works
Bringing your baby into the world is a huge moment—and capturing those early days is something truly special. At Cherry on Top Photography, I make sure your session is relaxed, stress-free, and filled with care. Here’s how it all works:
1. Book Ahead of Time
We pencil in your due date during pregnancy and schedule the session once your baby arrives. Newborn sessions are best held when your little one is 5–12 days old, so booking early is key—spots fill fast! If your baby is here, don’t stress. Get in contact and we can get the ball rolling – sessions CAN be done after 12 days of age.
2. Settle In at My Custom Studio
All sessions take place in my beautiful, private studio in Sydney’s leafy Kenthurst, just 10 mins from Castle Hill. It’s designed with new families in mind—comfy lounges, a spacious play area for siblings, a stylish bathroom to get ready, and plenty of snacks and drinks to help you relax.
3. Let Me Take Care of Everything
With over 15 years of experience photographing newborns—and a background in early childhood education—I handle your baby with expert care. I settle, wrap, pose, and even feed your bub if needed (bottle-fed), so you can sit back and enjoy the experience.
4. Include the Whole Family
I always include parent, family, and sibling shots in every session. These are taken toward the end of our time together, giving everyone a chance to be part of the memories. Styling tones and colours for the session are chosen by you, so your images match the style of your home. Neutrals, brights, pastels, jewel tones…your preferences are priority.
5. No Rush, No Pressure
Your session isn’t timed. Whether baby needs a feed or an extra cuddle, we take our time to ensure everyone is happy and calm before heading home.
6. On a budget?
I have a Pure Session AND a Sweet and Simple session available for those needing something a little smaller.
